It has become increasingly frustrating endeavouring to decipher statements issued by our political representatives.
Take for instance the proposed “gas tax”.
One side of the political spectrum assures us we will have a nett positive gain, the other side reject this claim. Then a decision has to be made which side is lying.
This, along with the proposed India Free Trade Agreement, where one side claims it does not affect the student applications, and the other claims there will be no control over student intake, along with their dependants.
If the latter is correct, I am sure a great many of these migrants will use New Zealand as a stepping stone to Australia, which in turn could result in the Australian immigration authorities revising our border crossing protocol to our detriment.
It would appear an impartial adjudicator is required to determine the accuracy of these claims espoused by these parliamentary parties, and perhaps then and only then, can their policies be subject to truthful debate.
