About 60 adults and children gathered for the Manna Kai Christmas Lunch, held at the Ōpōtiki Baptist Community Church Hall on Monday afternoon.

The charity provides a meal once a week, with this Monday’s a special effort comprising ham, turkey, salads and desserts to mark the end of the year.

Lydia and Dwayne Ashford head up Manna Kai, supported by various Ōpōtiki churches, businesses and individuals.  Members of the public donated toys which were distributed to children.

VISITORS IMPRESSED: A family from Tokoroa, including Te Kaea Wipere, right, and her son, Javon Wipere-Walker, left, were among out-of-town visitors at the lunch.
